CHOOSE WITH WISDOM

Employees promise us their best.

Lovers promise us their devotion.

Children promise us their obedience.

Politicians promise us a better life.

Charlatans promise us easy money.

We've all seen the same scenario!

"What was promised never materialized."

The more of life we witness, the more we see that promises are

broken for many reasons:

• Someone didn't care enough to follow through

• Someone didn't have the resources to fulfill their promise

• Someone didn't WANT to keep their promise

• Someone didn't know how to do what they thought they could do

• Someone knew all along that they would not/could not keep their

promises

Learn from your mistakes!

"What is the lesson here?"

I suggest you process through this mental checklist:

1. Did I hear and understand this person correctly?

2. Has there been enough time allowed for the promise to be fulfilled?

3. Was I fair in my own expectations?

4. Did I state those expectations clearly and plainly?

5. What will I do now?

The "what will I do now?" question is your launchpad.

Options abound....

• Get angry. Blow off steam! Let the other person have it!

• Realize that you trusted when you should not have trusted. Learn!

• Promise yourself to not trust so indiscriminately again. Question

more.

• Realize that, with the best of intentions, people are not always able to

follow through.

• Seek more information in the future...before you trust.

• Learn! Be wiser!

• Process important promises through a mature and realistic filter.

We all have choices to make this year in our national elections.

It will be necessary to process candidates' promises through our

most mature and realistic filters.

So, vote responsibly.

Give what you can to this country.

LEARN! QUESTION! BE WISE! REFLECT ! CHOOSE!

And each candidate that

MAKES PROMISES TO THE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY

is responsible for KEEPING THOSE PROMISE!

Choose with wisdom!

Then TRUST the individual to

KEEP THEIR PROMISES!

As an American, be on a journey

to make good choices

AND

hold people accountable.

For this country to be all it can be,

it will take YOU and ME!
